What to wear?

Sometimes all it takes is the thought of changing my outfit to keep me from the garden. Does that ever happen to you??

Im going through the day and get the urge to work in the garden so I start to move then STOP. I realize Im wearing a cute outfit not matched to the task and say forget it.

Removing any barriers in my mind is so helpful for me to access what I truly need - time in the garden.

But hey! Not every garden task requires a change of clothes. And so, I present to you this gift of a list of garden tasks matched to their appropriate outfits!

Planting seeds ——> Wear what you like! (WWYL) This low action task can be effectively done in the cutest of outfits. If you have a lot of seeds to plant and they require precise planting you mayyy want to wear pants that you don’t mind getting dirty, especially at the knees.

Digging earth ——> Best to wear an outfit that you don’t mind getting dirty and sweaty. This can be a high intensity task that’ll quickly have you feeling like part of the garden. And please wear work boots or any thick-soled shoes to protect your sweet feet!

Weeding ——> For smaller annual weeds whose roots are not held as tight or deep, WWYL! For perennial weeds whose root systems are thick and strong, best to wear an outfit that you don’t mind getting dirty and sweaty.

Planting / Transplanting ——> Best to wear an outfit that you don’t mind getting dirty and sweaty. For you will be getting dirty and sweaty. And please wear work boots or any thick-soled shoes to protect your sweet feet! If planting small plugs, you may only need to change your pants :)

Dividing perennials ——> Best to wear an outfit that you don’t mind getting dirty and sweaty. This can be a high intensity task that’ll quickly have you feeling like part of the garden. And please wear work boots or any thick-soled shoes to protect your sweet feet!

Pruning ——> Wear what you like! (WWYL) This low action task can be effectively done in the cutest of outfits. *If working with plants that have sharp twigs or thorns, best to wear long sleeves.

Harvesting ——> Wear what you like! (WWYL) This low action task can be effectively done in the cutest of outfits. *If working with plants that have thorns or can sting, best to wear long sleeves and pants.

Watering ——> Wear what you like! (WWYL) This low action task can be effectively done in the cutest of outfits. *Unless your water source or hose sprays weird, then you might get really wet ..

Adding mulch / compost ——> Best to wear an outfit that you don’t mind getting dirty and sweaty. For you will be getting dirty and sweaty. *The smaller the area, the less dirty and sweaty. Obv.

Perennial cutback ——> Best to wear an outfit that you don’t mind getting sweaty. This is a seemingly simple task that can quickly make your muscles burn. Great workout. Don’t forget to stretch your back every now and then.

Pest Check ——> Wear what you like! (WWYL) This low action task can be effectively done in the cutest of outfits.

Sitting and savoring ——> Wear what you like! (WWYL) This low action task can be effectively done in the cutest of outfits ;)

If you are able to garden in all your outfits, all the better! One less barrier in the mind to keep you from your garden. Me, I wish I could but I just can’t have my cute outfits getting all dirty.
